In remote and impoverished
rural areas, demands for quality child care are as high as at
any other places, since it is still necessary that both parents
work away from home. Youngsters are left mostly
unattended with aging grand parents, or allowed to roam freely with their buffaloes
and other farm animals.
To alleviate this concern, in partnership with many groups such as Hoa Sen
Canada, Funds Aid For Vietnam-Canada, JJR-MC 69, and notably Đức Sơn
Temple which manages the schools in Huế, VHI has built mostly pre-schools for children ages 2-5 and provide them a head start
education. To date, VHI has build 18 schools in the central and south
provinces of Vietnam.
